Trentham and Hanford Newsletter - theft of e-bike, ASB report, e-scooter update, targeted patrols and police street surgeries

Good evening everyone,

I hope you all are well. It’s been a very busy few days for myself and I have lots to update you all on.

Firstly, a warm welcome to everyone who has joined Staffordshire Smart Alerts over the last week or two. There are now 1584 persons registered to receive these updates in the Trentham and Hanford area, which is fantastic! Thank you all for the support – lets keep it going!

I have placed at the bottom of this e-mail registration details for anyone wishing to have these e-mails, along with the dates, times and locations of upcoming Police Street Surgeries.

Over the last few days, I have completed Police Street Surgeries at Maitland Gr, Bainbridge Rd, Constance Ave and Newhaven Gr.

During the Constance Ave surgery, I briefly had to leave for a few minutes to check on the welfare of a resident. If I did miss anyone, please let me know and I will be in touch.

Unfortunately, I was committed with an accident and was unable to complete the surgery at Renfrew Pl. My apologies if I missed anyone. This surgery will now take place tomorrow (16/09/26) 16:00 – 16:15.

TONIGHT (15/09/26) there will be a surgery at Meadow Ln 18:45 -19:00

TOMORROW (16/09/26) there will be a surgery on the A34/Stone Rd (opposite Danehill Gr) 18:45 – 19:00.

Appeals – theft of e-bike – Werburgh Dr

We have received a report that an e-bike, described as black in colour, has been stolen from the front garden of a property on Werburgh Dr. The theft occurred today (15/09/26) at approximately 14:30 hours and between the two blue arrows on this map.

If anyone should have any CCTV, Ring doorbell footage or any other information that may help our enquiries, please reply to this message and I will be in touch – thank you.

Anti-social behaviour – Allerton Rd

I have been made aware that on Allerton Rd, at the end of the school day yesterday (14/09/26) an apple was thrown by a child at a vehicle, which struck a small child travelling in the vehicle. Senior staff from Trentham Academy have contacted me to make me aware and they will be doing everything they can to help identify those involved. To my knowledge, this incident has yet to be reported to the Police.

Today I was present in the vicinity of Allerton Rd/Trentley Rd at the end of the school day and encountered no issues.

E-scooters

I have been asked to put further guidance out regarding e-scooters. If you own an e-scooter, it can only be used on private land with the owner’s permission. Over the last few days, I have completed targeted patrols throughout the the area, which has included home visits. If an e-scooter is used in a public place, it can be seized by the Police.

We are seeing an increasing number of circumstances, where children (some very young) are using e-scooters on roads. Please help to keep children safe and do not allow your child to use their e-scooter in a public place – thank you

Targeted Patrols – ‘You Say, We Go’

I was made aware that suspicious smells have been detected along the canal. I have completed patrols re this and currently encountered no issues.

Other patrols have included the path between Bainbridge Rd and the A34,

the Mausoleum, Brough Ln (to address any parking concerns) and Hanford Park.

I am happy to report that during these patrols I came across no issues.

We Knocked To Check You Locked

Yesterday (14/09/26) I attended Ashendene Gr and Redbridge Cl to complete crime prevention visits.

School patrols

Yesterday – I was present at the end of the school day at The Priory CE Academy. I came across very few issues, which was great to see. As a bonus, I got to say hello to probably the most famous dog in Trentham and Hanford – Bruce from the Priory.

Special mention - Our fantastic litter pickers

A very special mention, needs to be given to Ann and Archie, who I am sure many of you have seen litter picking around the area. Yesterday I stopped to say hello to them both as they were out and about helping to keep our area clean and tidy.

They do amazing work and I just wanted to say thank you for what they do!
